My Sexy Saturday – Christmas Romance

Hi all,

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. I’ve off to a wee job this morning then am hoping to be able to chill out a bit and catch up on my editing – we’ll see how that goes! First though, I’m thrilled to be joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop. The theme this week is supposed to be Sexy in Space – sadly I have no space themed stories for you, so I hope you’ll settle for something heavenly instead (hey, it’s all up, right?) This is from my new Christmassy release, Divine Justice.

“Jeremiah, you have been brought before the Council of Archangels to answer for your recent actions.”

The words echoed around the coliseum. Pillars framed the circle, solid cloud of pure white veined faintly with pink and gold. Above them the sky glowed, reflecting the light of the heavens. There was a time when he would have appreciated the grandeur, the beauty of it. When he would never have expected to be in this position.

Jeremiah stood straight and tall in front of them. He was not going to beg for mercy or plead for his life. He was aware that he hadโ€ฆ slipped. Where he had once loved his work, lived for it, been willing to believe in anyone or anything. Then centuries of watching the selfishness and greed of humans had left him bitter, cynical even. These were no kind of emotions for an angel. The council would be well within their rights to end his existence, a part of him would almost welcome it. The emptiness and peace of eternal oblivion. There was an appeal to that.

He eyed up the solemn line of archangels. All tall, blond, well-built. Ethereally beautiful, pure yet stern. He knew them all, had been friends with some of them once. It seemed a long time ago. When you lived forever then time started to lose all meaning.

Their leader stepped forward. Raphael looked solemn but then he generally did. Never one for cracking a smile, even in the old days.

“We have discussed the matter and reached a decision.”

Jeremiah held his breath. This was it. They were going to pronounce sentence, end him. There was little mercy for one of his kind; there couldn’t be with the powers they possessed. Up until this moment he’d thought he’d made his peace with that, but the faint tremble to his hands and the tightness in his chest proved him wrong. It was odd to be on the receiving end of judgement instead of being the one passing it. For the first time he wondered about those he had judged over his long existence โ€“ had they all felt like this?

My Sexy Saturday – My Sexy Holidays

Hi all,

Weekend is finally here, hope you’ve all got a fun one lined up! I’m thrilled to be joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop. The theme this week is My Sexy Holidays – damn, I guess we’re going to have to admit they are creeping up fast! Still, one of the bright sides is lots of fun holiday stories – and I thought I’d share a wee snippet from my upcoming one. Hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

christmas_tree_by_jacqchristiaan-d5o6lbl“I said, I’m really sorry but I can’t seem to figure out the shower. Could you possibly show me?”

“Erm, yeah, course, no worries.” God, she sounded like a mumbling idiot. Her brain seemed to have turned to mush.

She followed him back to the tiny bathroom and managed to talk him through the shower controls without gaping too much. Really, it wasn’t fair for one guy to be that damn hot. When she leaned across to switch on the dial, she ended up losing her balance, one hand going out to catch herself and landing up on the expanse of golden skin on his chest. He was warm, so warm, and the skin beneath her fingers felt satin smooth over the rock hard muscles. Holly felt herself freeze, her eyes shooting up to meet his, seeing the blue darken and heat.

“Sorry,” she squeaked, but she couldn’t seem to make her hand move.

His own hand reached out, running down her cheek before gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Holly held her breath, a trail of heat left in the wake of his touch. She wanted him to touch her more, to run her hands over all that golden skin, to follow that trail of hair down toโ€ฆ

He took a step back, her hand falling away, and Holly’s face burned. What the fuck was she thinking? There was no way he would want someone like her. Whirling on her heel she fled the suddenly claustrophobic bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Idiot!

d632891b93e42d44292c7b22f223f958Jeremiah cursed under his breath. What the hell? He had never been affected by a human before, yet his body was rock hard and he actually ached with the effort it had required not to reach out and drag her to him. To cover her lush lips, to shape every inch of those delectable curves, to bury himself deep inside her. Fuck, what was he thinking? His past transgressions were nothing compared to the trouble he would be in for sleeping with a human, especially one he’d been sent to judge. He turned on the water and fiddled with the temperature dial she’d shown him until it felt like there should be ice particles in the spray. Then he stood under it until he was chilled to the bone and his body finally decided to behave itself. Nothing was going to happen with Holly.

He frowned, there was a catch somewhere, he just had to find it. These days no humans were kind and sweet for the sake of it, there was always an ulterior motive. He would find it, and then he would be done with her.

Resolved, he turned off the water, quickly dried himself off and headed to the large, soft, freshly-made bed she’d provided for him. Yup, there had to be a catch somewhere.

My Sexy Saturday – 12/11/16

Hi all,

Yay, it’s weekend and after a rather stressful week all round, I think we’re all needing it. I’m excited to be back taking part in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop, and since the theme this week is ‘Sexy in the Sky’ I thought i’d share a wee excerpt from one of my latest WIPs. This is my deathly allergic witch and cursed vampire novella – and woot, it was just finished last weekend. Well, the first draft anyway, lots of edits to go yet ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope tou enjoy though x

“You have got to be kidding me?” The look on his face would have been almost amusing if Libby wasn’t already a little worried herself.

56000cae3cf8306e57939fef860e1c4a“Don’t be such a baby.” She patted the broom in what she hoped was a reassuring manner.

Okay, so maybe it was a slightly older mode. Older in this case meaning ancient and ever so mildly on the decrepit side, but these things were built to last. This had actually been her aunt’s, and a couple of fading stickers on the worn wood at the back hinted at the kind of globe-trotting life Libby had never had. If she was perfectly honest then she’d never actually taken it any further than Cornwall on a mini-break but, really, how much harder could it be to take it that little hop further to Northern Africa?

Venn was still staring her with that ‘hell no’ expression stamped all over his handsome face.

“Look, it’s not like we have a huge amount of options here. Every commercial airline in the country has supernatural security checks now โ€“ that would pick you up straight away. Do you have enough power to get yourself there on your own?”

She was 99% sure that he didn’t. She also know that he was going to resent to hell her mentioning it. She’d already gathered that most of his powers had been diminished since he’d been cursed. The smallest surge of power gave him a drawn look, tight lines round his mouth. The amount of power needed to get a body that distance would be well beyond him right now. As she’d expected his face closed down, anger and resentment flashing in those blue eyes.

“No,” his voice was clipped and she saw the effort it took to admit that.

“So, this is the best option. I’m a great driver โ€“ honest!”

A long drawn out sigh escaped him. “It appears I have little choice in the matter.”

She flashed him a grin. “That’s the spirit!”

She may be fibbing but shhhh ๐Ÿ™‚ Don’t forget to check out the rest of the fab authors taking part today – the link is here

My Sexy Saturday & Cover Reveal

Hi all,

Hope your weekend is going well. I’m joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop today and since the theme is celebration I thought I would celebrate my shiny new cover for Love Reawakened by sharing it here first ๐Ÿ™‚ It re-releases on the 30th so not long to go now! In the meantime I hope you enjoy the cover and the teaser.

Love Reawakened 3

Emma moaned as he tangled his hand in her hair, pulling her down so her body was crushed against him. She’d intended to give him a light, teasing kiss, but the moment they touched her senses went into overdrive. His tongue slid along the seam of her lips before plunging within, and groaning, she met it with her own. Her nipples hardened against his chest, even through her thin t-shirt, and his hand slid from her hair down her side to the band of warm skin where her jeans met her t-shirt and then underneath to cup her breast. His thumb rubbed back and forth across the sensitive bud, and a whimper rose in her throat.

Christ, it had always been like this between them. A simple touch was never enough, she always craved more. Her skin burned wherever they touched even through her clothes, and she desperately needed to be closer. She swung her leg across so she straddled him, and as she sank down, his erection met her rapidly dampening core and they both groaned. Oh God, that was just what she needed, only without the two pairs of jeans in the way.

She slid her hands between them, sliding them over the warm skin of his chest, tracing his pectoral muscles and the light smattering of hair. Then her fingers reached the thick bandage at the top, making him wince, and her body froze.

“It’s fine,” he murmured against her lips, trying to pull her back down to him.

She shook her head. What the hell is wrong with me? The guy had nearly died, had been awake for about ten minutes, and instead of trying to make him take it easy like the professional had told her to, she was jumping his bones. She pulled back, covering her face with her hands. This was before she even started on what a bad idea it was in the first place. They’d been down this road before, and he’d made it very clear nothing was going to happen. Didn’t she have enough on her plate right now without getting her heart broken again?

“Emma, what’s wrong?”

His voice was soft, and she forced herself to gaze up at him.

“I’m sorry. I really shouldn’t have done that.”

He smiled at her. “Did you hear me complaining? Unless it’s about the whiplash I just got.”

My Sexy Saturday 11/06/16

Hi all,

Hope you’re having a good weekend ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop today – and this excerpt is from my fairy-tale inspired romance, Scarlett Legacy. Hope you enjoy x

castle5The length of the huge room was lit with glowing candle-bulbs, set in wall scones that seemed to float near the ceiling. Mirrors lined the walls, reflecting and multiplying the dozens of dancing couples. Music from a string ensemble floated on the air, and she smelled the mingling scents of incense and mulled wine. As she stared in complete wonder, feeling like she was in a cross between a fairytale and a regency novel, Sophie nudged her yet again. Really, the woman was getting a little pushy. She’d been quite happy in her own little fairytale imaginings.

When she glanced over, the young woman was gazing at her with amused expectation and nodding toward the bottom of the curved staircase. Natalia’s breath caught in an entirely different way, heat flooding through her. Damian stood at the bottom of the stairs. The only adjective that came to mind was ‘dashing’. He wore a formal tux, the material tailored perfectly to his toned body, the crisp white shirt setting off his tanned skin and the dark unruly hair that just brushed the collar. A glittering pin held his deep red cravat in place. It glowed in the light and looked extremely expensive. The look of utter appreciation that filled his amber eyes as he stared at her made her legs shaky and heat run down her spine.

Her feet didn’t seem to want to move and she needed yet another nudge to start down the long staircase. It seemed to last forever, but then he was taking her hand in his warm one, and somehow the fact that it was still as rough and calloused as it had been in the woods centered her. He smiled at her.

“You look stunning, Natalia. You put every woman here to shame with the light of your beauty.”

She found herself smiling back. From most people, such a compliment would seem contrived or completely over the top, but the complete sincerity in his voice told her he meant every word.

“Thank you,” she murmured. “You clean up pretty good yourself.”

couple“May I?” He gestured toward the dancing couples and she nodded, though not without some trepidation. She hadn’t been lying when she said she wasn’t much of a dancer.

She shouldn’t have worried, since her partner had obviously done this before. He skillfully twirled her around the floor, his arm securely around her waist in case she mis-stepped. Natalia felt as though she was flying, as her feet carried her gracefully around the floor. Her skirts swirled around her, making her feel ridiculously feminine. She could feel the heat of his body, his hand secure in hers, and the sense of rightness only grew. When the song stopped, her cheeks were flushed, but she could have stayed in that moment forever.

What if the fairy tales were not only real, but had it all wrong? Come meet a Big Bad Wolf like you’ve never seen before.

When Natalia rents a holiday cottage she is looking for peace and quiet, a place to reassess her life and recover from her failed relationship. Instead she finds a man who turns her world upside down.

However, people and things are not as they seem, and Natalia begins to find that legends are real and fairy tales have a basis in reality. As she grows closer to the enigmatic Damian she finds herself tested as danger and passion go in hand in hand, and everything she thought she knew about the world will be questioned.

After years of waiting Damian had given up hope that he would ever find his destined mate, and he certainly never expected her to be a sassy American who has no idea that his world even exists. Can he convince Natalia to believe in the impossible, and more importantly, can he protect her from those who seek to destroy his people.

Hi all,

Hope your weekend is off to a good start ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s been a bit of a busy week here and am looking forward to a quiet weekend to catch up on some stuff and get some writing done. Since it’s Saturday though, I’m sharing an excerpt and this one is from Scarlett Legacy. I really hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi all,

How’s your weekend going? I’ve got a pretty quiet one planned but hopefully that means I’ll get some writing and editing done. Since it’s Saturday, I’m joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop. Today’s excerpt is from my current WIP (so please excuse any mistakes since it hasn’t gone through editing yet!). Hope you enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

God damn, she could just lick that, all of it. He swung round, a snarl lifting his upper lip and she shrank back. When he saw his expression flattened.

“What are you doing here. You should be in bed.”

“I can’t sleep.” She whispered.

“So, you thought you’d wander the house?” A hint of amusement touched his eyes. “Or were you wanting to work out?”

She shook her head. She couldn’t seem to stop her eyes drifting over his pecs, his flat nipples, the light dusting of hair leading down his stomach and disappearing into his pants.

“Katya?”

Her eyes shot to his, a blush rising in her cheeks when she saw knowing amusement mixed with desire.

“I am not a saint. Go back to bed now, or you won’t be going alone.”

My Sexy Saturday 27/02/16

Hi all,

I’m a bit late posting today – computer problems yet again *sighs* but I’m happy to be joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop today. The theme is paranormal – so you know I couldn’t miss that ๐Ÿ˜‰ This week’s excerpt is from Scarlett Legacy, and I’m currently hard at work on the sequel. Hope you enjoy!

sl rough 4For a moment, she imagined the room full of elegantly dressed people twirling across the floor. It would be an amazing sight. But hadn’t she intended to stay away from this man?

Amusement crossed his face as though he could tell exactly what she was thinking. “I assure you it will be a large affair; you could probably avoid me all night if you so desired.”

Natalia found herself smiling despite her reservations.

“I would prefer it if you were inclined to grace me with one dance.” He took her hand before she could protest and heat curled through her again. She tried to force her breathing back to normal.

“I haven’t even said I’ll go yet.”

Damian smiled, brought her hand to his lips, and lightly kissed it. Her breath caught and her tongue nervously snaked out over her dry lips. He held her gaze a long moment, and just when she was sure he would lean into her, and she was probably past stopping him, he abruptly released her.

“No, you haven’t agreed to come, but I hope you’ll consider it. I’ll arrange for an invitation to be dropped off for you.”

Panic sparked. She didn’t want him coming by her little cottage again. The man was entirely too disturbing to her peace of mind. No matter how many times she told herself that she needed to avoid him, or how much his behavior annoyed her, the moment he touched her, all her good intentions seemed to go straight out the window. She didn’t trust attraction like that. It felt too intense to be real.

“It’s fine. If everyone is going from the village then I’m sure they’ll have the details.”

He smiled again. She was rapidly starting to get annoyed with that smug look, like she was amusing him terribly. “I’m sure they will.”

Wolves_wolf_great_wallpapers_for_your_deskopTurning, he led the way to the grand foyer, which she had to admit was magnificent, and opened the huge double doors for her. She could see why the back entrance was easier, though she had to admit it did give her a bit of a fairy princess feel to be leaving a castle through the wide arched doorway and down the curved steps.

Natalia snorted slightly at the absurd thought and shot a sideways glance at Damian. Was he supposed to be the fairy prince then? That seemed even more ludicrous.

He suddenly grinned at her, a wide, wicked smile that showed his teeth. “I’m the Big, Bad Wolf, my dear. Don’t ever think otherwise.”

Then he turned and headed back into the house, leaving her staring baffled after him. Was that some really weird coincidence or had he actually responded to her thoughts?

My Sexy Saturday 20/02/16

Hi all,

How’s your weekend going? I’m joining in the My Sexy Saturday blog hop today, the theme this week is ‘mystery’ so I’m sharing an excerpt from my paranormal romantic suspense that I’m currently editing. Hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to check out the other great excerpts here: http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.co.uk/

Shannon Dempsey slipped her gun from its holster as she cautiously peered into the first floor apartment. The door was hanging off its hinges and she could see from here that the place seemed to have been ransacked. More than that though she could feel the fear and violence radiating out from the doorway, the emotions were so strong she could almost see them float in shimmering waves on the air. Sometimes it baffled her that no one else seemed to be able to sense them. She debated a moment whether to wait for backup, but the call had reported possible gunshots โ€“ waiting could cost lives.

She carefully stepped over the doorstep into the narrow hallway. The living room door was open and she pushed it right back against the wall as she entered the room. The emotions were stronger in here, seeping into her until her heart was pounding and a trickle of sweat ran down her back. You’d think after being on the force for over five years she’d be used to situations like this. To be honest she wasn’t sure she ever would be, and maybe it was for the best โ€“ if you stopped being scared you could get overconfident and that led to mistakes.

Shannon swept the room with her gun, her heart jumping into her chest when she saw a red patch seeping into the carpet and leading behind the stained brown couch. She kept turning constantly as she stepped over to it.

A surge of pity went through her as she stared down at the body of a middle aged man. He was thin, his face lined and careworn, a dark red stain spreading across the front of the faded checked shirt he wore. She automatically went to check for a pulse, though the pale blue eyes staring glassily at the ceiling already told her that she wouldn’t find one. Shannon closed her eyes a second against the guilt, if only she’d got here sooner.

Her fingers trembled slightly as they hovered over his skin. I thought you weren’t going to do this again. She told herself sternly, but guilt won out. If only she’d got here sooner, she owed it to the man to try anything to help now. Her teeth gritted as she lightly pressed her fingers against his cold skin and forced her mind to open.

Images and emotions flooded her, swamping her senses until she felt as through she was drowning under them. Panic, they were here, they had finally found her โ€“ fear not for herself, someone needed to be protected. She tried to grasp onto that image but it was swept aside, the thud of the door echoing through her. A brief flash of images, three men, she didn’t know them but she knew why they were here. Questions, they wanted something and they couldn’t have it, and then pain โ€“ shooting through her, so that spots appeared behind her eyes and she could see darkness racing towards her.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Take care x

cat grinHis face softened suddenly. “Surely, someone is looking for you then?”

Mary Ann was embarrassed to feel tears burn her eyes, and she squeezed them shut. “If anyone was looking for me then they would have found me by now. Obviously no one cares.”

The silence stretched out, and she forced herself to open her eyes, needing to see his face, though half-expecting there to be disgust etched on it. She was pathetic; apparently she couldn’t even do a one-night stand without fucking it up before it even started. He was staring at her, but the look on his face was odd and unreadable.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I just feel so alone sometimes, I think I’m going mad.”

A small smile curved his full lips. “We’re all mad here, little mouse.”

She found herself reluctantly smiling back. Perhaps he was right. His smile suddenly broadened into that wide grin.

“I think perhaps you need to see something strange and beautiful.”
