January Catch Up

Hi all,

I’ve been reminded that I’ve been rather lax with the posts lately (sorry Dad! :)) so thought I better pop on and update you all on what’s going in my writer’s land this month!

It ‘s looking like a busy year for anthologies. Have submitted two stories (well actually a story and a script) for an anthology being created by members of my OU Creative Writing course, made up of assignments we did on the course. Don’t have confirmed date on it yet but since everyone I’ve met on there was so supportive then am really looking forward to seeing what they actually wrote 🙂

I’m just waiting on final line edits back for my submission in the Serviced anthology for Breathless Press. I managed a sneak peak at the draft for the cover last week – am not allowed to share until it’s all finalised (sorry, guys!) but I will tell you it looks fab and definately hot!

I’ve also been accepted in another anthology entitled ‘Her Story’ – it’s going to be a collection of short stories celebrating Women’s History Month by telling women’s stories through history. Mine was very loosely based on a real woman and real event – which was a rather different experience for me. It did make it feel quite significant, but also a little scary as I really wanted it to do justice to the original event. The other stories I’ve seen mentioned being included sound fantastic – and cover a wonderful range of time periods and places – so am very excited to be involved. Anyway that will be out in March as well – so looks like will be a busy month.

At the moment I’m back on the work in progresses, though was rather naughty as I’d promised myself I wasn’t going to start any more until the current ones were at least much further along – have you guessed yet what I did this week? I blame the voices in my head – none of the old ones were shouting very loudly so some new ones crept it 🙂 Anyway, it’s looking like rather a busy week so hopefully will be able to squeeze in some time to work on it.

So, on that note, I better get back to it 🙂
