Hi all,
Well, Monday rolls round again and I hope you’ve all had a fun weekend. Mine did mostly consist of working, though managed a wee break on Saturday to catch up with a friend over food. This friend is currently on a creative writing course at university, and it made me very sad to hear that some of her fellow students are being very critical and unsupportive in terms of the required feedback needed for the course. I’ve been very lucky in the fact that most other writers I’ve met have been very helpful and supportive and there are some wonderful author communities out there. Sadly, I do know other people who haven’t been so lucky and it always confuses me a little why some writers seem to feel the need to tear each other down. Perhaps it’s insecurity, or some strange notion that they’re getting rid of the competition, but at the end of the day I don’t see how it takes anything away from you to build up your fellow writers.
Anyway, speaking of supporting other writers, I’ve been concentrating this week on getting my anthology, with fab fellow authors Leona Bushman and Sheri Velarde, all finished off and ready to go live. I’m really excited to be involved in this — and all proceeds are going to charity.
I’ve also been working on some Christmas stories, and it must be getting me in an xmassy mood as I’ve actually bought my first pressies! Trust me, this is very unlike me, I’m usually the one running round in December 🙂 So, better get back to it.
Have a wonderful week x
