Guest Author Decadent Kane with Traces of Poppy

Hi all,

Hope you’re having a good weekend. I’m just happy to have a day off, has been a busy and slightly frazzling week! Still, things are always looking up when I get a visit from the fab Decadent Kane. If you haven’t checked out her Trouble with Elves series yet then you’re elfing missing out 😉 Today, she’s going to chat to us about that fickle thing we all rely on as writers – inspiration! Take it away, Decadent.

Author Pic - Decadent KaneInspiration comes in many forms for me as an author. I tend to find the everyday most valuable. I will get ideas will promoting other books. I will find new thoughts about stories coming when I’m sitting around talking with other authors. I like to surround myself with the indie community and I do so in many genres, so when I talk with other writers, I find new ways to do things or say things on the page. Helping them generally helps me.

My new release had been in the works since I had started a Novel Writing Month project a few Novembers ago. Poppy didn’t really want to talk to me so I focused more on Drayden.

My childhood reading didn’t really inspire me, so much as let me enjoy what I do. I like telling stories, and when I realized I wanted to be an author, I kept plugging along at the dream.

I think that’s all any of us can do 🙂 Decadent’s latest elf book, Traces of Poppy, is out now. Check out the details here:

Cover - Traces Of PoppyBlurb

Fate may take her life, but he will steal her soul. Madness stalks Poppy’s dreams, drowning her in darkness, pain, and the fires of hell. Hoping the nightmares can be tamed, she seeks help from a sage witch, only to discover a crueler fate: she is bound to die. The elementals require her sacrifice, or they will end her bloodline forever. The worst part? She just found him…

The elf who is destined for her.The male who will go mad without her.The mate she can’t have.

Drayden knows the feral has him. He’s turning into a drow faster than he thought possible. Rage and chaos consume him from the inside out, threatening to devour not only him, but his soul mate as well. She fears him, and yet she is the only one who can save him from his nightmare…

If they can survive the sage witch’s treacherous task. If he can hold onto his soul a little longer. If he can watch her die.
