Hi all,
Am feeling a little sober this week, the events in Orlando are just heart-breaking – an attack not just on the US but on the LGBT community in particular. It’s so so sad that in this day and age, with all the advances we’ve made, that some people still feel so threatened by the fact that someone is different to them. How can we call ourselves a progressive society when people are still discriminated against, persecuted and even killed because of their sexuality, or race, or religion or anything else for that matter. The only good thing I see is the show of solidarity from around the world – the image of the Eiffel Tower, lit up in rainbow colours, was especially moving.
It seems a little odd to chat about my week in light of that, but it has been a busy one. All booked and confirmed for the RNA Conference now, and have even had the chance to chat to some other first-timers which has made me a little less nervous. I also have an industry appointment booked so need to get my first chapter and synopsis sent off for that asap! I wasn’t actually planning on sending this book out until later in the year (after the second in my wolves series had been released) so am feeling a little rushed – but it’s a good opportunity so worth trying I think. Tbh the person I’m seeing is slightly off-genre for me, but I’m still thinking it was a valuable chance to get to chat to someone in the industry and maybe get some good feedback.
I’m also starting final edits on my wolves book this week – hoping to finalise a release date for next month – as well as reformat my zombie romance for re-release, as it reverted back to me when my old publisher closed down. So much to do, so little time!
Anyway, hope you have a good start to the week. Take care x
