Hi all,
Well, weekend is finally here – woot! I have some friends visiting, which I’m very excited about, even if it does mean I have to catch up on all the cleaning I’ve been putting off while trying to catch up on the writing lol! Still, I’ve managed to squeeze in a break to chat with the fab GM Scherbert, who is chatting about her new release, Doc’s Ember – part of her Devil Iron MC Series.
So, let’s start with you telling us a bit about yourself.
I was born on a brisk late April morning and grew up in a small town in the Midwest but, quickly decided that was not the life for me. I quickly moved away for college and thought better of returning to that small town on a long term basis. City living is the life for me and I found that out while studying abroad in Europe.
My day job working with people on the Autism spectrum keeps me on the go most of the time. That is when the three small daughters and husband are not pulling me in a million different direction.
I am the kind of gal who is quirky, unique, smutty, hard to hate, harder to love. Taking my love for telling stories to the next level by putting my hat in the romance writing game.
If you are interested in romance with twists and some darker themes Author GM Scherbert will be right up your alley.
Sounds like you’re definitely kept busy! Was there a specific moment where you first knew that you wanted to be a writer?
I think it didn’t really hit me until the first time I hit the publish button on Amazon.
It’s a unique feeling isn’t it? Part awesome, part completely terrifying! 🙂 Do you have a particular writing routine, or any special rituals?
I use to… I have recently given birth to my third daughter and am not yet in a routine with my writing, I am hoping that quickly changes because these stories will not write themselves.
Aww, well congratulations on the new arrival! Tell us about the genre you write in, and what drew you to it.
Romance and more specifically Erotica. The draw to me started with an avid interest in reading and grew like wildfire from there.
Are there any particular authors or books that have really inspired you?
Too many to mention.
What five things could you never do without?
My children, my husband, coffee, reading, and wine.
Sounds like a good combination 🙂 Tell us a bit about your new release.
My most recent release is Doc’s Ember. It is the 4th story in the Devil Iron MC Series. It follows a relationship that develops in the previous books. Ember is a young woman who is forced to leave to keep the ones she loves safe- or so she thinks. Doc is the man who loves her and will do anything to have what he wants.
Ooh, I do love a good MC book. Where did your inspiration for it come from?
My vivid imagination. I have had most of the books in the series plotted out since before I started writing the first book about a year ago.
Wow, organised! I’m lucky if I have the characters when I start lol. What did you find most enjoyable about writing it?
I always find researching scenes an enjoyable part of writing. Of course, if I die someone come clean up my browsing history. PLEASE!!!
Hehe, yup I feel you there. It would definitely make for some *ahem* interesting reading. What was the hardest part about writing it?
Just finding time in the day to write is hard. After that keeping the plot points and timelines straight have always been a difficult part of the process for me.
Who’s your favourite character in it? (I know, I know, favouritism!)
I think that my favorite character in this book has to be Doc. He is such a strong caring man, but only the woman whom he loves sees that side of him.
Aww. Why should we run out and buy it right now? 🙂
If you like a steamy read with a happy ever after this book will be right up your alley.
Hehe, who doesn’t? 😉 Well, I’m convinced! The book info is here:
Blurb
~Doc
When Ember walked out on me I was ready to be put to ground. I barely gave a f*ck what happened to me before, but after she left, I didn’t care at all. The brothers always knew me as a hard ass with no feelings, which only got worse after she left. The night I ran into her at the Dungeon, those feelings of pain, love, and lust returned in an instant. Then I found out about our son, and the pain I had been living with for the past five years blew up, with no one to blame but her. When I find out the truth of why she left, no one will be safe.
~Ember
I thought that what we shared was in the past, leaving me with the most precious of gifts, my baby boy, Vincent. I came back to be closer to my father and thought that no one would notice I was back. I was wrong. As soon as I saw Doc again, all the feelings from the past came rushing back, I lost my heart to him on the spot, for the second time in my life. He is so angry and upset with me for leaving, but I had my reasons, and he will never get an apology from me for that.
When he finds out the truth, no one will be safe from him. Not even me.
